Taste the hive with Hive Magic Creamed Honey! This is our classic Creamed Wildflower Honey with fresh honey bee pollen and propolis blended in. We love sharing the wonders of honey bees with you, and our new Hive Magic takes that to the next level! Pollen and especially propolis may be less widely known than honey and beeswax, but they are essential to making a honey bee’s world go 'round. Packed with health benefits and complex flavors, we invite you to experience the magic in the hive!
Wildflower honey: Its rich, bold, floral taste comes from the nectar that bees gather from the trees and flowers within range of their hives in South Jersey, and will vary in flavor and color throughout the season. Our honey is always local, raw, and pure, and provides antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Our “creaming” process uses no heat or cream. We simply cold-churn the honey to achieve a thick, creamy, buttery texture that melts in your mouth and stays on the spoon!
Honey bee pollen: Bee pollen is a collection of flower pollen that the bees combine with honey and enzymes, then compress into a granule for transport and storage. It is their primary source of protein and thus essential to a strong colony. Pollen comes in a range of colors (red, orange, yellow, green, tan, brown) and flavors (sweet, floral, earthy, even bitter). Using pollen in our honey adds a pop of color and health benefits! Pollen is a significant source of protein and fiber, vitamins A and E, and the majority of minerals for which there is a recommended daily intake. Pollen is perhaps most well known for its ability to reduce seasonal allergies.
Propolis: Also known as “bee glue,” propolis is a sticky substance honey bees make from various tree resins. In the hive, they use it to seal cracks and smooth over surfaces. It’s also a powerful antimicrobial, so keeping the hive coated in propolis is vital for a healthy colony. In our honey, it adds immune-boosting and anti-cancer properties, as well as depth of flavors, including notes of pine, mint, vanilla, and spice.
